Andreas HĂ„tveit Backyard Battle Count Down

Andreas Håtveit works on his backyard park in advance of the Norwegian Freeski Open this weekend and his own contest Backyard Battle which begins next week.
This weekend Andreas Håtveit hosts the Norwegian Freeski Open in his own backyard park. 35 of Norways top freeskiers are invited and ready to competete with each other in Norways most important big air contest. Andreas will offer a good environment for the competitors with skiers able to use his skate ramp and the badeland next to his hotel in which there will be a diving-tricks contest.
Andreas said:
“I am really looking forward to welcoming all the riders at the Norwegian Open to my home set up. I think they are going to have a great time with a great mix of skiing, diving, skateboarding and some special entertainment with have arranged with a stand up comdeian who will be giving a show on saturday night. All the riders are very welcome and I look forward to meeting some old friends and some new faces!”
On Monday Andreas begins his own contest Backyard Battle with the top Nordic freeskiers from Norway, Sweden and Finland. The 14 invited riders are:
In preparation Andreas and his brother Jon are busy shaping up his backyard park so everything is in perfect condition for the two competitions.
Andreas said:
“We are totally re-building the park for this event witha new rail line containing two rail to gaps and some new rails. In addition I am busy building a second back-country big jump which is 300m above the park with great vistas for photo and filming. We will have a 6 man pro film crew in place and they will be making a documentary about the event which will be shown on NRK in the coming weeks and which will be distributed via Nike to TV channels in Europe.
I think the guys at the event are going to have a great time”
The Norwegian Freeski Open organised by Twintip forbund will be held at Andreas park on Sunday 21 March. Competitors arrive on Friday for practice on Friday and Saturday.
Andreas own competition Backyard Battle final will take place on Thursday 25 March in the evening. A rail jam competition will be held the day before on Wednesday 24 in the evening. The competitors will arrive on Sunday evening and be hosted by Andreas over the next four days.
