The US Open, held under less than spectacular conditions, went off, with some less than super pros taking top honors. In true US Open fashion some new names took top spots. We’ll have the full story to you soon, but here are the top 10 finishers.
Andreas Hatveit wins X Games gold on the final run of the day. He beat out Jossi Wells, who led for the better part of the finals, while Jon Olsson took 3rd to round out the podium.
Hall Pass: Tanner cleans up at 2008 PVAs
Tanner Hall followed a move into number 2 of the Powder Reader Poll by winning two individual awards in the Powder Video Awards. In addition to winning Best Performance by a Male and Best Line, Tanner’s movie Believe also took Movie of the Year honors. Want to know why? Four skiers. Head-to-head. Reality TV-style. The first annual skier big air event went off tonight at Buttermilk Mountain. It was Simon Dumont vs. Jacob Wester vs. Charles Gagnier, battling it out two-by-two on a 60-foot gap/stepup jump.
We’re here at pipe finals and the Freeskier crew has divided up in order to conquer the coverage here at Winter X Games 12. On the hill we’ve got Matt Harvey, Shay Williams and Jay Michelfelder behind the lens capturing all the action. Digi Dave is down in the media tent watching the live HD feed and processing information and photos as it comes down from the hill.
